Festival director and frontman of the Lamaketta’s – a party band from Zeeland (Terneuzen) – asked me to make a light sculpture inspired by a song of the band. A song about Captain Rooibos. When I discovered that a rooibos flower leaf looks a bit like a sailboat, my plan was born: I was going to make the ship of Captain Roobos, taking the shape of the Rooibos leaf as a starting point.
The length of the object is approximately 3.5 and the height 4 meters. It was made in 2018.
