I made ‘Buzzard’ in 2021 for the light art event Zilver op Water (Silver on Water). The assignment was to respond to the landscape of Flevoland.
As a newcomer to Flevoland, I noticed that many buzzards live in the polder. So many in fact, that it reminded me of the many pigeons you see in cities. Due to their abundance, this is sometimes experienced as a nuisance. And that also applies to the buzzard in Flevoland. That didn’t apply to me. I think it is an impressive bird that I wanted to highlight.
‘Buzzerd’ was subsequently exhibited in various places. Including Light Art Festival Caprera in Bloemendaal and Sint Maarten Parade Utrecht.
